Changed plan to Telcel was given an Iphone 8, and on the second day of usage I’ve slept through an important alarm waking up 2:15 hours late.

Kinja'd!!!

I know it’s my fault, but I realized that the factory volume for the alarm is ridiculously low and, per factory settings, you can’t just raise it using the buttons, you need to go to settings and then raise it. So lets say you’re some sort of dope like me and while you configure your alarms, you raise the volume... great! But it won’t matter; cus you raised the volume for media; not for alerts.

Someone at apple must’ve noticed this, or planned this as some sort of prank, why doesn’t apple just change to have four volume settings like Samsung does? Are they afraid of being more customiziable and predicting. Or is it that more than two volumes ruins their aesthetics?

Also what the fuck is an animoji?

I don’t actually remember ever seeing this before. Just looked, and mine has the slider ON so it changes with the buttons.  That’s who I’ve always had it as far as I can remember.

It’s the first time I have a problem with it, but I looked it up online and millions of idiots like me had the same issue.

I bought a cheapo clock radio from Walmart because the iPhone alarm is too unreliable. Sometimes it'd only vibrate, other times it'd neither ring nor vibrate, just a message on the display indicating that the alarm has gone off. The cheapo clock radio has never failed.

In general, I feel Apple has lost their way with human interface design. Once upon a time, they had the magic of making everything intuitive but also thorough. Nowadays, it seems they just pile feature upon feature without cleaning out the underbrush and streamlining.

I feel like their tradeoff has always been “reduced customization” (compared to PCs or Android) but now they’re ramping that up, but the interface suffers.

Don’t even get me started on iCloud, photostream, synching, or any of the more complicated topics. There is literally nothing in my life right now that makes me madder than these things. Because they separate me from my stuff and it starts to feel like Big Brother after a while. Or at least a big brother who is like “Nope, you can’t have it back!”

Telcel sucks too

I had this conversation

Me: “hey, I only get 3G even in Mexico City I used to get LTE with my former carrier and my understanding is that you guys share networks with them, could this be an issue with my phone?

Service: “where are you? We don’t have LTE  all over the (largest city in the country and the capital) area

Me: “I’m literally 500m away from your general offices.”

Apple tends to have a good sense of when to make a new technology available. But lately they’ve been allover the place
